ABOUT ME
As a clinical social worker providing mental health services to seniors, I have learned how essential support is during this phase of life. The “golden years” may be a time of reflection, self-growth and nurturing our relationships with others. But every phase of life presents challenges and an opportunity to grow. The past fifteen years of my professional career have taught me the struggles seniors face on a daily basis to stay healthy, happy and prepared for a future in a rapidly changing world. The impact of the technological age on our healthcare system has created new challenges to overcome. Besides navigating doctor’s appts, prescriptions and financial strain, many seniors are experiencing personal challenges as well. For example, grief and loss due to the aging process, grieving the death of a loved one, fears of future health declining, and balancing emotional wellness. My hope is to help seniors and their families address the struggles associated with the aging process. I provide mental health counseling to address issues of depression, anxiety, loneliness, grief and loss and adapting to life transitions. I assist with senior care planning to help seniors create a long term care plan utilizing the resources available in their community. I meet with seniors and families to discuss insurance, facility options, medicare and medicaid and caregiver agencies. I help families create a plan based on personality preferences and financial resources for different levels of care. My goal is to unravel the confusion associated with the aging process and reduce stress and anxiety. Having the emotional support we all need to cope with life changes helps us enjoy whatever phase of life we are nMy hope is to ease your worries with counseling, education and care planning services. I hope to be a part of your aging journey and provide the support and education needed for your future.
